Regret 001; [Action/Accidental Video]

[As is usual for him, Zan'nen wakes to find that he has fallen asleep in yet another odd place. This time, it was a cold, hard forest floor. Again. Groaning slightly as he pulls himself up, he mentally kicks himself for not doing the smart thing and finding a proper place to hide before passing out stone cold. It wasn't like there was anyone looking for him. No, there was no one he wanted to avoid or anything.

But damn, he was sore. Not entirely unusual, with the way he tended to fall asleep in odd positions, but this was... different. He stretches his arms over his head, and only then realizes that his shirt seemed to be missing.]

Dammit!

[He fumbles around for a minute trying to find where he might have thrown his shirt the night before, but instead his fingers brush something decidedly smooth. He hastily yanks the object out from under the brush it was wedged under, only to find that his alias, "Zan'nen", was printed rather nicely across the cover.]

....the hell? [Nervously, his wings shudder, which startles Zan'nen enough that the journal falls to the ground, sprawling wide open in front of him.

Anyone that happened to be paying attention to their journals at that moment was treated with a sudden video feed of a man--(or was it a woman? Hard to tell by just the face.)--trying to crane their head over their shoulder, looking rather panicked. And if that didn't get their attention, his sudden angry exclamation--]

WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?! [...might have done the trick.]

(ooc: Hope I'm doing this right. Zan'nen is confused and frightened, so expect jerk-ass-ness~! Well, with him you always should, but yeah... Feel free to stumble upon him and drag him into town as well, if you're ready for a stubbornness fight. )

It's not that. I just don't think that treating this place as a prison is the right idea.

[identity profile] applehair.livejournal.com 2010-10-09 03:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Because we're still given proper facilities, and we have a lot more freedom to roam than necessary. They're also went through the trouble of making it a livable community.

[identity profile] returninghope.livejournal.com 2010-10-11 08:21 pm (UTC)(link)
... Is there anything else I should know about this place?

[identity profile] applehair.livejournal.com 2010-10-12 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
There's... plenty, I suppose. Let's start with what you want to know first, then we can take it from there.

[identity profile] returninghope.livejournal.com 2010-10-13 07:23 am (UTC)(link)
Our... [He decided against using the word 'captors'.] ...The people that brought us here, what is it they do with us, exactly?

[identity profile] applehair.livejournal.com 2010-10-13 04:00 pm (UTC)(link)
... Well. [She sighs. No use beating around the bush.] Experimentation, as I'm told.

[identity profile] returninghope.livejournal.com 2010-10-13 04:18 pm (UTC)(link)
[He doesn't seem surprised by this. In fact, he doesn't seem unsettled at all.] ... What kind of experimentation?

[identity profile] applehair.livejournal.com 2010-10-13 04:42 pm (UTC)(link)
That's the strange thing. It's not certain what kind of experimentation it is, or what it's goal is supposed to be.

[identity profile] returninghope.livejournal.com 2010-10-16 11:49 am (UTC)(link)
[He thought about this quietly for a moment.] ...So what do the others here do about it?

[identity profile] applehair.livejournal.com 2010-10-16 12:01 pm (UTC)(link)
I've heard of attempts to leave before, but none that have been successful... well, not by choice, at least.

[identity profile] returninghope.livejournal.com 2010-10-16 06:22 pm (UTC)(link)
... There are successful attempts that aren't by choice?

[identity profile] applehair.livejournal.com 2010-10-17 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
I've heard of people going home before, but there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to how they do it.

[identity profile] returninghope.livejournal.com 2010-10-17 06:19 am (UTC)(link)
... Are you sure they're sent home?

[identity profile] applehair.livejournal.com 2010-10-19 02:14 pm (UTC)(link)
No. [She admits softly.] But I can't exactly do anything about it, can I?

[identity profile] applehair.livejournal.com 2010-10-21 12:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sorry I couldn't provide more positive news.

[identity profile] returninghope.livejournal.com 2010-10-22 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
There's nothing to be sorry for.

[identity profile] applehair.livejournal.com 2010-10-26 07:06 am (UTC)(link)
I volunteer at the Welcome Center, and I'm also a part-time helper in the clinic.

[identity profile] returninghope.livejournal.com 2010-10-26 07:32 am (UTC)(link)
... We have a Welcome Center? [/wishes he had known this.]

[identity profile] applehair.livejournal.com 2010-10-26 07:34 am (UTC)(link)
It's located in the town square. We probably should advertise it better.
