This post is for random threads and such that we may have missed, need to thread out or... Just because we feel like it and don't want to go spamming other places. All methods of communication are cool with me, as well as multi-character threads. Just be sure to put the date and however we're interacting in the subject line.

I don' know about that. I think if you knew some of the people I did you might consider changing your opinion.

The people you know don't define you, however. You yourself have never once given me reason to think my safety was compromised. [Well.... Safety, anyway.]

I know that. And I certainly hope I haven't done anything to make you think that way. But that doesn't mean that I haven't done things in the past that I should be punished for, or that I don't have crimes that I shouldn't still pay for.

[A long pause. He doesn't know what Zan'nen did, but it sounded serious.] and in what way does feeling pain from a senseless experiment help with paying for that crime? That pain isn't going to make anyone's life better, you know.

Doesn't make anyone's life worse either, so I guess it doesn't matter either way.

... Maybe I'll finally learn my lesson. Who knows? How the hell would you have me pay for it?

Helping others. Doing your best to improve yourself so you never make those mistakes again. Try to make a difference, somehow. [He knows plenty about regret, if not about Zan'nen.] You will always have it, that is true, but if you continue to wallow in guilt you will accomplish nothing to make amends, in my opinion.

I don't intend to repeat my mistakes, but I'm just not cut out for helping others.

[Frey knows the feeling well enough. What could a prince do, to help the Queendom? It takes time and effort, and a lot of searching for what you can do.] ....I guess it can seem that way at times. But if you keep trying, I'm sure you'll eventually find something you can do to help others.

Yeah.

[A sigh. He won't force his opinion on him.]

[There is a soft knock at your door early this morning, Zan'nen; it seems a certain brunette was brave enough to escape from Frey's protective watch long enough to come all this way by herself. Or maybe it took some tears and begging, but either way she's here and hoping you will answer.]

[It's a bit too early for Zan'nen perhaps. Although he answers the door, his hair is a regular bird's nest, and the larger, more comfortable shirt he wears while sleeping is hanging off of his shoulder. His voice is still drunk from sleep, and the way he's stumbling around and leaning against the door frame, he could fall back slip back into unconsciousness any moment now.]

Mmmgh. ...Kaori? What'sa matter?

[She can at least hear him stumble around, prompting a curious look from her. Maybe it was too early? Whatever, she was already here and who knew when she would get a chance to come by and see him again.]

Uh... can I talk to you...?

[Zan'nen was slowly beginning to slide down the doorway. Eyelids drooping. Sure, Kaori. Whatever you want. Come in.]

...

[Oh, right. He should probably say that out loud, huh?] Huh? Oh, yeah. Sure. Come in... and stuff.

Thanks... [Geez, Zan'nen, how tired could you possibly be? So on his invitation she makes her way in, turning her head this way and that out of habit. It's been a while since she's been in his apartment, hasn't it?]

[The room actually hasn't changed much, something Kaori might appreciate. There's maybe a chair or two hanging somewhere around, and the plant she gave him is sitting nicely by the window on the only table. Other than that, it's about as empty as it was went she first crashed through his ceiling.

Zan'nen himself slumps in one of the chairs, head down on the table, debating whether or not his room and the bed would be more comfortable.]

... Seat's over here.

[She manages to sense the flower she had given him, which only serves to make her happier. Even though they had reached an unspoken agreement to put it behind him, that he kept it means a lot to her. Muttering a quick 'thank you' after being told the direction of an available seat, she sits down and folds her hands in her lap, chewing on her lower lip softly.]

Did I come too early?

Nah. Never early. Come when you want. [It should be noted that he's mumbling this while still face-down into the table.]

[... Yeah, she's getting sleepy just listening to your sleepy. That's why she's reaching over and pulling him up by the ears.]

[For whatever reason, her touching his ears makes him jolt up from the table. Damn, he didn't know his ears were that sensitive.]

D-, don't do that! [Yawn.]

It sounded like you were falling asleep. [Now she's tilting her head to the side, her expression just a little sad.] Should I come by later...?

No, Kaori. I said it was fine. I'm awake. I'm listening.

[Zan'nen reseated himself, and then softly rapped his fingers across her forehead. Sleepy, or not, he heard that tone, young lady.] I'm listening, really. So what is it?
