[Shortly after Kaori contacted him, Frey decided it was most definitely time to check on Zan'nen. He'd been quiet before because he was worried they were upset, but now-] Zan'nen?

[Well..... he's not exactly sounding happy, but he's speaking, which is good.] Are you ok?

[There is a soft knock at your door early this morning, Zan'nen; it seems a certain brunette was brave enough to escape from Frey's protective watch long enough to come all this way by herself. Or maybe it took some tears and begging, but either way she's here and hoping you will answer.]

[It's a bit too early for Zan'nen perhaps. Although he answers the door, his hair is a regular bird's nest, and the larger, more comfortable shirt he wears while sleeping is hanging off of his shoulder. His voice is still drunk from sleep, and the way he's stumbling around and leaning against the door frame, he could fall back slip back into unconsciousness any moment now.]

Mmmgh. ...Kaori? What'sa matter?

[She can at least hear him stumble around, prompting a curious look from her. Maybe it was too early? Whatever, she was already here and who knew when she would get a chance to come by and see him again.]

Uh... can I talk to you...?

[Zan'nen was slowly beginning to slide down the doorway. Eyelids drooping. Sure, Kaori. Whatever you want. Come in.]

[Oh, right. He should probably say that out loud, huh?] Huh? Oh, yeah. Sure. Come in... and stuff.

Thanks... [Geez, Zan'nen, how tired could you possibly be? So on his invitation she makes her way in, turning her head this way and that out of habit. It's been a while since she's been in his apartment, hasn't it?]

[The room actually hasn't changed much, something Kaori might appreciate. There's maybe a chair or two hanging somewhere around, and the plant she gave him is sitting nicely by the window on the only table. Other than that, it's about as empty as it was went she first crashed through his ceiling.

Zan'nen himself slumps in one of the chairs, head down on the table, debating whether or not his room and the bed would be more comfortable.]

... Seat's over here.

[She manages to sense the flower she had given him, which only serves to make her happier. Even though they had reached an unspoken agreement to put it behind him, that he kept it means a lot to her. Muttering a quick 'thank you' after being told the direction of an available seat, she sits down and folds her hands in her lap, chewing on her lower lip softly.]

Did I come too early?

That's what she said, Kaori.

Nah. Never early. Come when you want. [It should be noted that he's mumbling this while still face-down into the table.]

[Guess who wants to talk again, Zan'nen? While it's been a while and she's well aware that they're not the closest chums, but at this point she's not sure of where else to turn to. Things have just been getting steadily worse for her since New Year's, it seems.

And if he turned her away... that was fine, really. She was used to it still.] ... Na, Zan'nen?

Kaori. [To be quite honest, Zan'nen was surprised to hear from her. It seemed strange to him for her to come calling right out of the blue. Even back when they were 'siblings' he wasn't the first one she'd turn to, and they weren't exactly... Well, they hadn't really been speaking much, for whatever reason.]

Um... [Where to even begin? It wasn't like she'd rehearsed this before, her thoughts are just so scattered that she doesn't know where one ends or another begins and it made talking about this that much more difficult.

And it's not really something she wants to broadcast over the journals either. She knows her filter is weak, and anyone could end up seeing this.] Can we... meet up somewhere, please?

[Meet up somewhere, huh? This was filtered too, wasn't it...? There's some weight to whatever she wants to say, whatever that is.] Yeah, sure. I'm not busy. We can meet up where ever you want. There's always my apartment, or... I dunno the playground or something. Anywhere you prefer?

... There's a playground? [While it had nothing to do with what she wanted to talk about, it's enough of a distraction that she has no choice but to dwell on it. She'd never heard mention of it before, and could only vaguely remember one which her father took her to often. It was so far away in her memory that she can't quite recall the details of it.]

[...What? Really? That sounded like such a little kid response.] Yeah. It's behind the school. For the school kids.

[It's clear from the interest in her voice she probably wanted to at least check it out. It was most likely where they were going.] C'mon. I'll take you there and we can talk. There's probably a swing or something. I can pick you up.

Okay... [She pauses for a moment before it occurs to her that Zan'nen wouldn't know where she lived anymore, given the change of households had happened only last week and then everyone was upheaved by that experiment.]

Still, Zan'nen places his hand on the crest of her head and gently ruffles her hair once more. Meeting someone knew didn't-, it shouldn't destroy your life.]
